HER Alliance establishes communities where commercial sexual exploitation cannot thrive: Where survivors are empowered, exploitation is prevented by protecting our most vulnerable populations, and individuals stand united for lasting change.
In May of 2025, we launched a locally grounded nonprofit organization called HER Alliance. This new organization is an extension of the work we’ve done and the lives we’ve impacted under Awaken Wisconsin, while focusing more deeply on the unique challenges and opportunities within Wisconsin. This shift allows us to:
-
Root our work in local relationships and collaborate closely with Wisconsin-based service providers, survivors, law enforcement, and community members.
-
Tailor services to the specific realities of trafficking in our state—urban, rural, and everything in between.
-
Empower survivor voices and leadership from within the communities we serve.
This transition reflects our belief that long-term, sustainable impact is best achieved when local communities are leading the way. HER Alliance is not just a name change—it’s a reflection of a renewed commitment to Healing, Empowerment, and Restoration in Wisconsin.

Our Purpose
HER Alliance empowers survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking, advances prevention through education, and fosters healing by building strong, collaborative community partnerships.
